Bucknell & Susquehanna to Participate in NSCRO Mid-Atlantic Qualifiers

UPDATE 12/3/16:  Bucknell 38 - Catholic 43, Susquehanna 34 - Loyola 59  Two EPRU men's collegiate teams have qualified for NSCRO playoffs. Bucknell University will take on Catholic University (at Bucknell) in the Mid-Atlantic North Qualifier. Susquehanna University will travel to Loyola University in Baltimore, MD in the Mid-Atlantic South Qualifier. Both matches kickoff at 1:00 on December 3, 2016.  Good Luck to our representatives!

NSCRO Men's Collegiate Championship Results

In the NSCRO Mid-Atlantic South Region, Bucknell University defended its East Penn RU title beating Susquehanna University 55-41 while Catholic University edged American University 26-21 in the Capitol RU playoffs. On December 3, Bucknell will host Catholic and Loyola will host Susquehanna in the NSCRO playoffs. The winners will qualify for the Mid-Atlantic South Region Championship on April 1-2.

NSCRO Women's Collegiate Results

Mount St. Mary's University hosted the Women's Collegiate NSCRO Mid Atlantic Regionals on November 12-13. On Saturday, MSMU defeated York College of PA 20-17 to advance to the final on Sunday vs. Lee University. In a tough loss, MSMU fell to Lee University by a score of 29-26. Neumann University traveled to Granville, OH for the NSCRO Central Region playoffs. On Saturday, Neumann won 35-29 over Denison University and faced SUNY Cortland the next day. SUNY Cortland came out on top 43-24.

Men's Collegiate Tier 1 Playoff Schedule

Congratulations to the following teams on making the playoffs:

#3 NW Albright College
#1 SE LaSalle University
#2 SE Lafayette College
#3 SE Widener University
Fields for playoffs should be a minimum of 60m wide (NSCRO standard for playoffs). Fields that do not meet this standard will not be used for playoff matches. Home teams should look to secure alternative locations if their fields do not meet the standards. Football fields with goals at the back should not be used for playoffs.

Annual Toys for Tots Happy Hour

Philadelphia Women's Rugby, along with the Schuylkill River Exiles Men, are hosting the annual Toys for Tots Happy Hour at O'Neals Pub on December 3rd from 8pm to 11pm. Bring an unwrapped toy and receive happy hour specials. If you play rugby, all backs should bring a toy for girls and forwards for a boy. Tier 1 Women's Collegiate Playoffs

Results are in! Mount St. Mary's defeated Neumann 39-26. MSMU will represent the EPRU at the NSCRO Mid Atlantic regional championship on November 12-13 hosted by Mount St. Mary's. Neumann will go to the NSCRO Central Regional Championship at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.The winner of that event will advance to the National Championship on December 3-4 at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Widener defeated Albright to take 3rd and 4th places respectively.

Two Women's Collegiate Teams Advance to NSCRO Regionals

Mount St. Mary's and Neumann University will advance to the NSCRO Regional Championships on November 12-13. In a close game until the end, Mount St. Mary's defeated Neumann University for 1st place by a score of 39-26. The match was tied 12-12 at the half. Mount St. Mary's will host the NSCRO Mid-Atlantic South Regional Championship at Echo Field, while Neumann University will travel to Denison University in Granville, Ohio  to participate in the Central Region Championship.

PWRFC Hall of Fame Banquet Set

Philadelphia-Whitemarsh has announced their annual HOF banquet date and location - February 4th at the Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern. EARLY BIRD tickets are $60 through January 2nd. January 3rd - February 3rd, tickets will be $65. Last minute tickets can also be purchased at the door for $70. In addition to appetizers, dinner, there will be a silent auction and raffle.

The yearly mandatory meeting for ALL women's collegiate teams will be held Sunday, November 20 from 1:00-3:00 pm. F & M College is hosting. Please be ready to send at least one (1) member of your team. We will decide location and dates of the 7's series matches, along with other items of business. Failure to send a representative will result in a $100 fine for your club.
