The Blue Ball 7s Tournament will be hosted by the Wilimington RFC at Appoquinimink High School in Middletown, DE. The tournament is will host five (5) separate division. These division are Men's Premier, Women's Premier, Men's Open, Men's Social (limited to 4 teams), and Women's Social (limited to 4 teams).

This past Saturday, the Harrisburg RFC hosted their 31st Annual 7s Tournament in Campbelltown, Pennsylvania at the Campbelltown Fire Hall. With a total of 37 teams from 3 different divisions competing in the tournament, players were able to witness the exemplary skill and talent that made these club rugby teams thrive throughout the area.

Three rugby clubs, all members of EPRU, will come together this summer to put together the 2017 Rugby Camp at the Frankford Boy & Girls Club. The collaborating clubs include Schuykill River RFC, Philadelphia Women's RFC, and North Philadelphia RFC.

Club Spotlight: North Penn RFC
Since 1988 the North Penn RFC has provided the opportunity for rugby players from the Hatfield, PA area to play on the pitch for the first time in their lives or for those looking to continue their rugby careers.
Read more »Rowan University Hosting Rugby Clinic on August 5th
Rowan University is hosting their Rugby Skills Clinic on August 5th from 9am to 5pm. The clinic will take place on campus at the Rowan University Intramural Field and is open to all high school athletes.
The clinic gives high school students the opportunity to visit Rowan University's campus as well as work with collegiate rugby players and coaches on rugby skills. At the end of the clinic, participants will be able to learn more about rugby recruiting during a recruiting seminar with Coach Wilson.
The cost of the Rugby Skills Clinic is $75 per participant.
Read more »Mount St. Mary's Wins Philadelphia Cup at 2017 CRCs
Mount St. Mary's Men's Rugby team became division champions after a 15-12 win over Fordham at the 2017 Penn Mutual Collegiate College Championship.
Their division pitted teams such as Delaware, Rowan, Villanova, UPenn, and West Chester against one another to win the Philadelphia Cup. A round robin style tournament was played on Saturday, June 3rd with finals on Sunday, June 4th. There were two pools of three teams that played three matches each, the top four teams then were re-seeded and played semi final matches until a winner was determined.

As you are likely aware the EPRU suffered a significant loss both personally and professionally with the passing of Dana Bateman. Dana had been Secretary for the EPRU for the past 40+ years and nobody can appreciate the amount of work that she did, and how much we relied on her. We have been working intensely since her death to transition much of this work. Small tasks like transitioning the mail, the bank accounts, and 40 years worth of EPRU minutes and memorabilia have taken unbelievable amounts of time to accomplish.

Philadelphia, Pa- Mid Atlantic Men’s Open Champions, 21-5 overall record, and a winning streak that hit 17 games spanning 4 tournaments. For any observer, those stats jump out at you, when you consider those accomplishments were garnered by a group under 23 year olds against some of the best men’s clubs in the Mid-Atlantic, it’s astounding. “It’s our first tournament and first match together, some guys don’t even know each other’s names yet, and we lose by 1 point on the last play of the game.

The Philadelphia Gryphons Rugby Football Club, the city’s gay and inclusive men's team, hosted nine rugby clubs from around the country for the second biennial Colonial Cup, held on May 19-20 at Edgely Field in Fairmount Park. Nearly 300 rugby players from around the eastern U.S. participated in the tournament, which strives to strengthen the growing network of gay and inclusive rugby teams across the globe.

The Lehigh Valley Summer 7s has been hosted by the Lehigh Valley RFC for over 42 years! This tournament is open to 24 men's club teams and 16 women's club teams. The entry fee is $250, due by June 1. Located in Beautiful Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the tournament will consist of three field or rugby action. Water & Ice is provided as well as medical trainers. The tournament also consists of the infamous "Wheelbarrow of Cheer" Raffle and much more!

Director of Athletics Lynne Robinson announced that Mount St. Mary's University will elevate the women's rugby program to full varsity status beginning with competition this coming fall. The decision makes the Mount one of only seven NCAA Division I programs in the nation and means the university will compete against some of the nation's most respected academic institutions.
