MARFU Women's Collegiate Playoffs

The MARFU Women's Collegiate playoffs began Saturday, March 24th with quarterfinal matches hosted by the higher seed.  Since there are only seven Division 1 Women's College teams in MARFU, the #1 seed, Penn State received a bye.  The results of the matches played are:

Downington Girls & West Carroll Girls to Represent EPRU at HS National Invitational Tournament

Teams Named for 2012 H.S. National Invitational

BOULDER, Colo. – The teams that will compete for the 2012 Emirates Airline USA Rugby High School National Invitational Tournament have been set. Eight teams will compete in each division; Boy’s High School (single school), Boy’s High School Club (multi-school), and Girl’s High School.

USA Rugby, acting on input from teams and stakeholders in the high school rugby community, altered the format of the tournament making it an invitational to help teams save money while maintaining a high level of play.

Hosts Needed for PA State Championship Events-Bids Due Feb 10

Any interested high school or club team is invited to submit an application to host one or more PA State Championship playoff events in May of 2012.  In 2012 we will be combining locations so as to host the boys high school and girls club quarterfinals on May 13, 2012 and we will be combining the semifinals and finals of all three divisions, boys high schools, boys clubs and girls clubs, in one host location on May 19 and 20, 2012.

Level 1 Referee Certification Courses February 11 - 2 locations in EPRU

Level I Referee Certification Courses

The EPRRS will be conducting two Level I Referee Certification Course on Saturday, February 11th at 11:30  -- Weather Permitting.  Courses will be located in both Eastern (Allentown) and Western (Camp Hill) locations for your convenience.

The "Eastern" course will take place at the Troxell Building of the Allentown School District (2219 North Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown PA 18104-9665).

USA Rugby Coaching Certification Courses - Feb 4-5, 2012, Phoenixville

Get your required certification at a course in the EPRU. Remember that all previous CAP certifications expired in August 2010 so you must take a new CDP course.  If you have taken a CDP course in 2008 or prior, your certification has also expired UNLESS you took a CEU course (such as Luke Gross's Lineout Clinic) which extends your certification expiration.

January 21 EPRU High School/U19 Boys 7s Individual Testing & Development Camp

The rugby athlete must train and develop unique skills for 7s, be able to make the right decisions in the open field and under pressure and learn to use space. Since 7s is played on the same sized field as 15s, there's more room. This camp will emphasize developing the skills necessary to compete at a high level in the game of 7s rugby.
