Patchtown Days, Saturday and Sunday, June 23-24, 2018

The small town of Eckley, PA is looking for local rugby teams to play at their annual Patchtown Days festival.

Patchtown Days

The Eckley Miners Village Museum, in Eckley, PA, is a Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission administered mining “patchtown”. The village was built in the 1850s as a coal mining company town. In 1971, the town founded a museum after the movie The Molly Maguires was filmed in Eckley in 1968.

Every year the town hosts an annual festival, Patchtown Days. In 2018, the festival falls on Saturday and Sunday, June 23-24.

2018 will mark the 50th anniversary of the filming of The Molly Maguires.

To celebrate, the village is welcoming acting groups to act out movie scenes from The Molly Maguires film. Rugby teams are also invited to play a commemorative game each day of the festival to highlight one of the most iconic clips from the film, a rugby game.

The festival will also be host to a variety of vendors, food and activities, including village-wide scavenger hunts for children, live animals, vintage photos, a Sean Connery mustache contest, cooking in summer kitchen, The Molly Maguires props displays, a “Join the Strike” parade, "Fact or Fiction" trivia games, and beer tent!

Join in the Fun!
