Marco Barnard of Kutztown - USA Rugby Collegiate All-American

Marco Barnard, a sophomore at Kutztown University, becomes the fourth member in the history of the Golden Bears, to be named to the USA Rugby All-American Team.

Kutztown's inside center was named to the 2007 squad in June of this year,when he reported to Toronto Canada for pre-game assembly and two matches against the Canadian U-21 side.

The Americans were victorious in both matches and Marco's performance was instrumental, in scoring the go ahead try of the second contest. Marco hails from Pretoria, South Africa and during his tenure at Kutztown, has not only represented the All-Americans but has also been a two time member of the MARFU Collegiate Select Side. He has also established himself as one of the premier young talents in the game of 7's and was a member of the NYAC 7's team that competed in the Men's National 7's Tournament in Pelham Washington.

He has also been the youngest member of the renowned Atlantis 7's team and traveled with them to compete against international competition in Spain and Trinidad. While in Trinidad , he captained Atlantis, scored nine trys and was voted the most outstanding player of the tournament. During the 2007 MARFU Division One Premier League, he was the Kutztown captain and club's Most Valuable Player , as he led the Golden Bears to an undefeated season, the Premier League crown and the nation's number one collegiate ranking by the internet rugby magazine, www.goffonrugby.com.
