Baltimore & Old Gaelic Finish On Top in 2017 Atlantic Cup

After a thrilling day of rugby, Baltimore RFC found themselves as champions in the Men's Division of the 2017 Atlantic Cup. Old Gaelic also was victorious in the Old Boy's Division, beating Baltimore's own Old Boy to win.

Baltimore Wins 2017 Atlantic Cup Men's Division

Baltimore had a long day ahead of them to be named champions at the 2017 Atlantic Cup.

Their first match was against the University of Maryland RFC, where they won with a score of 25-5. Just an hour after their first match, Baltimore went on to face Newport where they walked away with another victory, 17 to 5.

In their last match of pool play, Baltimore went head-to-head against the host team Wilmington RFC. Wilmington was no challenge for Baltimore as Baltimore shut them down, 39 to 0. For the championship match, Baltimore faced Frederick. In a hard fought match, Baltimore finally came away on top with a score of 29 to 14 to win their division.

Old Boys' Division Won by Old Gaelic

Since there were only three teams that competed in the Old Boys' Division, the winner was determined after pool play.

Old Gaelic went up against the Wilmington RFC Old Boys' team and had a close out match, winning 31 to 0. Three hours later, Old Gaelic went against Baltimore RFC Old Boys' team to see who would be crowned the champion. Luckily for Old Gaelic, they had no problem with Baltimore, defeating them 40 to 12.
