Rowan Rugby at the 2017 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s

Rowan University Hosting Rugby Clinic on August 5th

Rowan University is hosting their Rugby Skills Clinic on August 5th from 9am to 5pm. The clinic will take place on campus at the Rowan University Intramural Field and is open to all high school athletes.

The clinic gives high school students the opportunity to visit Rowan University's campus as well as work with collegiate rugby players and coaches on rugby skills. At the end of the clinic, participants will be able to learn more about rugby recruiting during a recruiting seminar with Coach Wilson. 

The cost of the Rugby Skills Clinic is $75 per participant.

Schuylkill River U23 7s program storms into year 2

Philadelphia, Pa- Mid Atlantic Men’s Open Champions, 21-5 overall record, and a winning streak that hit 17 games spanning 4 tournaments. For any observer, those stats jump out at you, when you consider those accomplishments were garnered by a group under 23 year olds against some of the best men’s clubs in the Mid-Atlantic, it’s astounding. “It’s our first tournament and first match together, some guys don’t even know each other’s names yet, and we lose by 1 point on the last play of the game.

EPRU 7s Series at PSU Berks

This past weekend was the first EPRU Small College 7s series event for men's colleges hosted by Penn State Berks in Reading, PA. A total of 12 teams competed with two schools - Franklin and Marshall College and Susquehanna University - sending their 2nd sides to compete, while their 1st sides (along with Kings College) participated in the NSCRO 7s National Championship qualifier in St. Mary's City, MD.

Bucknell & Susquehanna to Participate in NSCRO Mid-Atlantic Qualifiers

UPDATE 12/3/16:  Bucknell 38 - Catholic 43, Susquehanna 34 - Loyola 59  Two EPRU men's collegiate teams have qualified for NSCRO playoffs. Bucknell University will take on Catholic University (at Bucknell) in the Mid-Atlantic North Qualifier. Susquehanna University will travel to Loyola University in Baltimore, MD in the Mid-Atlantic South Qualifier. Both matches kickoff at 1:00 on December 3, 2016.  Good Luck to our representatives!

NSCRO Men's Collegiate Championship Results

In the NSCRO Mid-Atlantic South Region, Bucknell University defended its East Penn RU title beating Susquehanna University 55-41 while Catholic University edged American University 26-21 in the Capitol RU playoffs. On December 3, Bucknell will host Catholic and Loyola will host Susquehanna in the NSCRO playoffs. The winners will qualify for the Mid-Atlantic South Region Championship on April 1-2.

Susquehanna Men's Rugby Receives Alumni Contribution

The Susquehanna Alumni, Family & Friends Rugby Fund has been established to enable Susquehanna U Men's Rugby Club to have experiential learning opportunities by attending tournaments, camps and other related activities as approved by the University.The fund has been established with an initial contribution of $10,000 by 2015 rugby alumni Aaron Trate from Danville, PA. Aaron believes that Rugby can help students become leaders and great teammates throughout life. Aaron hopes that others will be inspired by his gift and support the Rugby program as well.

Mandatory Men's Collegiate Tier 1 and Tier 2 Meeting

The EPRU will hold a meeting for Men's Collegiate Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams on Saturday, January 30 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. All teams must have a coach or officer in attendance. Any teams not attending will be fined $250 and be excluded from the league schedule until the fine is paid.

2016 Annual Mandatory EPRRS Meeting

The 2016 EPRRS Annual Clinic will offer three separate locations on Saturday, January 30th. Remember, this is a mandatory session for all teams (Club, College, High School & Age Grade) that utilize the services of the EPRRS.  The Clinic will provide instruction for the year, as well as assistance for each club's officers in their dealings with the EPRRS.  The Clinic should take no more than two hours depending on questions from the crowd.

The 2015 NSCRO 7s Men's Small College National Championship is returning to Philadelphia, PA on May 30 and May 31 and is again being held in conjunction with the CRC 7s run by United World Sports (formerly USA Sevens). Eight teams will head to Philadelphia for a chance to be crowned the Small College National 7s Champion. Both the semifinals and final are planned to take place in PPL Park Stadium on June 1.

NSCRO has released its final top 40 rankings for the men's small colleges. With 215 teams participating this past competitive year, these clubs stood apart from their peers. The basis for the rankings include Union/Conference league and playoff results, NSCRO playoff results and input from both NSCRO officials present at playoff events, coaches and league officials.

Susquehanna Qualifies for NSCRO 7s Nationals

The Susquehanna University Men's RFC competed at the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) 7s Qualifier on April 5, 2014 in Grove City, PA. The event is one of the eight national qualifiers for the NSCRO 7s National Championship being held May 31-June 1 at PPL Park in Chester, PA. A total of nine teams competed. In their first pool play match, Susquehanna defeated Robert Morris University 33-7. In their second pool play match, the Crusaders lost on a last second play to Geneva College 31-26.

Susquehanna Falls on Day One...Occidental Tigers Roar the Loudest!

Led by MVP Barnsby Audsley, the Occidental College Tigers bounced back from an opening pool play loss to Western New England University and won the inaugural NSCRO National 7s Championship by defeating the University of North Florida 28-15 at PPL Park on Sunday June 2 in front of more than 6,000 rugby fans. Coach Dallen Stanford, a former Eagle 7s player, could not have been happier. The  EPRU's Susquehanna University faired well in the tournament defeating Western New England University and losing good matches to both tournament finalists.

Hawk Rugby Sevens headed to Wilmington, DE to make their debut in the Subaru Sevens this past weekend. A young roster, the Hawks came out tough early in Game 1 against local foe University of Delaware, falling behind 10-0 but playing a close game at half. The second half was a different tale as the Blue Hens were too much for the Hawks and the result was a 29-0 Delaware victory.

Rugby took over Rittenhouse Square when teams from Temple University Men, University of Pennsylvania, St. Joseph's University and University of Delaware shut down 18th Street on May 16th to showcase their skills and demonstrate various rugby stunts in preparation for the Collegiate Rugby Championship. The players gave away rugby-related gifts to bystanders and ran a few scrimmages to show the audience what the game looks like at full pace.
