Tournament of the Week: North Penn Body Armor Sevens 2012
The North Penn BodyArmor Sevens 2012 tournament was a big success, with plenty of sunshine and skilled rugby on display at the John S. Clemens Memorial Park in Hatfield, PA on June 16. Competition was strong among the 18 mens and 9 womens teams that entered the field.
In the Men's Division, pool games ended with Lehigh Valley, North Penn, Towson, and Downingtown as the four pool winners to advance to the Cup bracket for the overall championship. After winning their respective semi-final matches, Downingtown was victorious over Towson in a Cup Final that showcased strong defense. In the other brackets, Lancaster emerged as the Plate Winner, and Princeton as the Bowl Winner.

In the Women's Division, the Scion Sirens, Lancaster, Keystone, and NOVA advanced to the Cup bracket to play for the overall championship. NOVA and Scion Sirens both won decisively in their semi-final games, to set up a hard fought Cup Final in which NOVA was crowned champion. In the Plate Final, Maryland defeated North Penn.

Congratulations to all of the 5 bracket winners, who were awarded prizes of a set of Sevens Jerseys. North Penn RFC would like to thank our sponsors BodyArmor Superdrink and Steamroller Rugby Supply that helped make the day great.
