Sea Isle City Ruggerfest

Ruggerfest 2011
Jul 14, 2012

Each summer for the last 30+ years, Blackthorn R.F.C. has organized and sponsored Ruggerfest in Sea Isle City, NJ. Ruggerfest is a daylong event for any and every rugger.

Mini College Tournament

This year they are looking to do a different format.  Blackthorn is looking for interested college teams to participate in a mini college tournament. The college tournament will consist of 2 divisions ( Red and Blue) and a series of 20 minute matches; no halftimes, just straight play.

Win= 2 pts
Tie= 1 pt.
Loss= 0 pts.
Bonus (1)- 3 tries

Motley Matches

The motley matches with keep the same format as normal - All sides are chosen at the pitch, and each match will be 15 minutes long. There will be both men's and women's matches throughout the day, Ruggerfest is an ideal way to get a run in over the summer, try a new position on the pitch, and play alongside new players. With the pitch next to the bay and only a few blocks from the beach it is also great for casual players and spectators alike.

Sign up for two games at a time for $5. You may sign up with a group, or be put on a random team. Tickets are sold first come; first serve the day of the event. Twenty games are scheduled for that day, women’s and men’s. Kickoff for the college tournament is at 8:30am.  All player types are invited.

After party will be at Kixx - McNutleys (for 21 and older) following the last game.
