EPRU U15 - U13 Championships On Sunday May 23, 2010 The EPRU held its 2010 U15 championships and tournament in Mechanicsburg PA. The tournament was hosted by the Cumberland Valley Rugby Club (CV) and held at a terrific venue at the Cumberland Valley High School. It was a celebration for youth rugby in the EPRU and included a three team U13 round robin, a three team U15 round robin and U15 playoff bracket. With 10 teams participating, all of the youth players in the EPRU had the opportunity to play; it was a festival of youth rugby to be witnessed. With two quality fields and a smooth running tournament by CV there were 10 games of high quality rugby played throughout the day.
In the U15 playoff bracket the top four seeded teams from the regular season played for the championship. In the semi-finals, The TE Tigers from Conestoga Rugby defeated the Unionville U15’s 22-0 and Doylestown U15’s and Downingtown U15’s played a in a intense match that ended in a 12 all tie and won by Doylestown in a penalty kick shootout lasting 10 rounds. The finals saw the TE Tigers and Doylestown play in a highly competitive match won by the TE Tigers 17-12. Congratulations to the TE Tigers for winning the 2010 championship and also to all the players and coaches of the U15/U13 division for a great year of youth rugby in the EPRU.
