EPRU Girls Rugby: 2012 All Star Team Selected

The 2012 EPRU Girls U19 All Star Team was selected last week after a tryout match during a break in the action from the EPRU Girls High School playoffs at the home of the Hempfield Knightmares.

The 24 player team was selected from 35 players that were on hand to try out for the team, and the 50-60 other players who were competing in the playoff matches that day. Players represented many of the EPRU teams, and the quality of rugby was high.

The selected team will travel to the Wilbraham and Monson Academy in Wilbraham, MA on the weekend of June 15-17 to compete in an tournament featuring 8 LAU teams from the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. The team features players from 10 of the EPRU high school teams, including 5 players from last years' team.

Congratulations to all that were selected, and thank you to all that came out to the tryouts. Special thank you to Joe Capp and the Hempfield Knightmares for hosting, and to Coach Bernie Cantorna and Coach Ari Christakis for donating their time to coaching the all star teams. We appreciate your support year in and year out.
