The fall rugby season has begun, and Delmarva Men's RFC receives the honors of being featured for this week's EPRU Club Spotlight.

Delmarva Men's RFC History

The Delmarva Men's RFC was formed in 2011 and officially became a member of the EPRU in 2012. In the beginning, the team consisted of rugby fanatics who were looking for a new opportunity to play in their community. The club was started by Tom Colucci, Joe Baker, Ryan Batdorf, Spencer Powell and Mike Venero who are all current members of the club. They started the club because the only other clubs were located 2 hours away in either direction. Now the club has expanded, welcoming members from all around the Delmarva (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia) area.

The club has come very far way since 2011, including their most recent victory over Jersey Shore with a score of 22 to 19.

Cape Gazette Covers Delmarva Men's RFC

Although Delmarva has only been a team for 6 years now, their membership has grown tremendously. One reason for this is their reoccurring coverage from the Cape Gazette, the local news that covers Delware's Cape Region.

The Cape Gazette covers all of the many different events that are hosted by the Delmarva Men's RFC. Some of these include their recent matches, fundraisers, as well as tournaments that Delmarva has hosted. Their most popular tournament is Son of a Beach, which takes place at the end of May. The annual 10's tournament brings together a number of club teams along the East Coast for great day of rugby.
