Hosts Needed for PA State Championship Events-Bids Due Feb 10

Any interested high school or club team is invited to submit an application to host one or more PA State Championship playoff events in May of 2012. In 2012 we will be combining locations so as to host the boys high school and girls club quarterfinals on May 13, 2012 and we will be combining the semifinals and finals of all three divisions, boys high schools, boys clubs and girls clubs, in one host location on May 19 and 20, 2012.

EPRU Executive Committee & Board of Directors Meeting - Feb 6

The EPRU Executive Committee and Board of Directors will meet on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza in the Independence South room, 3 Mall Blvd, King of Prussia, PA.

EPRU High School Boys hold first ever 7s Camp

On Saturday, January 21, 2012, 41 EPRU players representing 13 teams met at the University of Delaware Field House for a Rugby 7s Camp. The camp combined the introduction of all aspects of 7s rugby as well as fitness testing.

Level I Referee Certification Courses

The EPRRS will be conducting two Level I Referee Certification Course on Saturday, February 11th at 11:30 -- Weather Permitting. Courses will be located in both Eastern (Allentown) and Western (Camp Hill) locations for your convenience.

The "Eastern" course will take place at the Troxell Building of the Allentown School District (2219 North Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown PA 18104-9665).

USA Rugby Coaching Certification Courses - Feb 4-5, 2012, Phoenixville

Get your required certification at a course in the EPRU. Remember that all previous CAP certifications expired in August 2010 so you must take a new CDP course. If you have taken a CDP course in 2008 or prior, your certification has also expired UNLESS you took a CEU course (such as Luke Gross's Lineout Clinic) which extends your certification expiration.

Indoor High School Rugby Clinics - Lafayette College - Jan 29 & Feb 5

Lafayette College Rugby will host two indoor High School Rugby Clinics on two consecutive Sundays, January 29th and February 5th. Each clinic will include a warm up, rugby games, skills, drills and a video presentation.

Introducing 7s to the EPRU Boys All-Star Program

As announced at the December Coaches Meeting, the EPRU Boys All Star (also known as Select Side) program will be introducing 7’s in its 2012 program. The first step of this effort will be a Boys EPRU 7’s Camp on Saturday, January 21st at the University of Delaware. It will start at 5:00pm and conclude at 10:15pm.

EPRRS Mandatory Clinic Date - February 11, 9:30 AM.

As in years past, the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Referees Society will hold two mandatory clinics for teams competing within the EPRRS's jurisdiction. Each club in the EPRU must be represented at the meeting. Failure to attend or contact the EPRRS will result in a $50 fine and could result in loss of referee assignments for your club for the year.
