On November 19th, the 2011 Men's Collegiate Finals wrapped up a fantastic season. In Division I Shippensburg University beat St. Josephs University 36-24 to take the Founders Cup and advance to the Sweet 16. East Stroudsburg, Lafayette, Rowan and Lock Haven both won in DII and DIII action.
Division II
The Division II championship had East Stroudsburg get the better of The College of New Jersey in a very heated match 27-7. TCNJ came out firing and put 7 points on ESU but they were not able to hold them and ESU's forwards got the better of TCNJ. The match was tight until the second half. Both teams advance to the Mid Atlantic Playoffs in the spring of 2012. The third place match was played on Friday night at Lafayette and they got past Villanova 10-5. Lafayette will also advance as the EPRU third seed into the MARFU Playoffs.
Division III
The Division III final was Rowan University against Ursinus College. Similar to the Division II match, Ursinus came out hot and had Rowan against the ropes 7-0. Rowan held them off after that and was able to turn the tide. Ursinus never gave up and scored a try late in the second half. The final was 33-14 in Rowan's favor. The third place match had Lock Haven in a rematch against Gettysburg. Lock Haven won the match 31-5. Rowan and Ursinus will advance in the National Small College Rugby Championships(NSCRO) and Lock Haven, Rowan and Ursinus also advance into the Mid Atlantic Division III Playoffs in Spring 2012.
Media Rugby Football Club
The EPRU Men's Collegiate Committee would like to thank Media Rugby Football Club for hosting the event.
